The producers of "Lowball," a feature film centered around "Baltimore's infamous Club Charles" have issued a casting call for actors to help tell the tale that is reportedly based on true events involving serial killers lurking in an actor's entourage without his knowledge.
"In the late 1980s, former soap star Josh Hamlin's obsession with landing a role in cult filmmaker John Waters' next movie leads him to Baltimore's infamous Club Charles," the synopsis for the film says. "But as he tries to impress Waters, he's oblivious to the chilling reality that two serial killers are lurking in his inner circle.
"Josh's desperation for fame becomes a fight for survival as he navigates a dangerous world of twisted desires and deadly secrets."
Producers are still looking to cast the leads: Joan, Mary Ann, Mike, and Max, as well as day players and minor roles, and they're willing to pay for an estimated four days of work on the film.
Actors vying to take on the mantle of Mary Ann or Mike will also require actors who have powerful singing voices, according to the casting director.
The going rate for the roles is between $150 and $1,000 per day, good for a total of up to $4,000 during the shoot. There will also be meals, lodging, transportation costs, and footage for the actors' reels.
Shooting is scheduled for Spring or Fall next year in Maryland.
